Description
This is an exciting opportunity for a hunt in the Kotzebue area, known for its "Arctic" grizzly bears. Conducted north of the Arctic Circle during the fall season, these hunts offer a unique chance to target bears with a wide range of color variations, with light blonde being the most common. Bears in this area typically range from 7' to over 9'2", making for an incredible trophy. This is a spot-and-stalk, fair chase hunt. Days will be spent glassing mountainsides for bears feeding on blueberries, roaming the tundra, scavenging on moose or caribou carcasses, or hunting for late-run salmon in rivers. Fall hunts primarily focus on glassing mountain slopes where bears feed on berries or work small streams where they feed on salmon. Tags for this hunt are available "over the counter," and with grizzly bear hunting being closed in British Columbia, this is a perfect opportunity for hunters to take advantage of some amazing hunting in our grizzly bear areas. In the 2018 season, the largest grizzly taken in the area scored an impressive 27 12/16", which is expected to be among the top grizzlies of all time.
